SIM and eSIM

The SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) is the little chip that tells the cell network who your phone is: its number, its account, its carrier. A physical SIM is a tiny plastic card you slide into a slot. An eSIM does the same job electronically, downloaded into the phone with no card at all. Same identity, two delivery methods.

BCC deserves more credit than it gets. When you put recipients in To or CC, every one of them receives everyone else’s address, and those addresses then sit in dozens of inboxes you do not control. The day any one of those inboxes is compromised, and phished and hijacked accounts are an everyday event, the scammer inherits the whole list: real, active addresses of people who know each other, which is exactly the raw material a convincing scam is made of. BCC prevents that. Blind carbon copy addresses are stripped from the message as it is delivered, so a compromised recipient’s inbox gives up only two addresses instead of a hundred. If you are sending one announcement to a group, BCC is the courteous and safer choice, full stop.

Nothing in federal law forbids running a newsletter by BCC; the CAN-SPAM Act’s rules for commercial email: honest subject lines, a real postal address, and a working opt-out honored within ten business days, can technically be satisfied with a footer typed at the bottom. But now look at what you have signed up to do. Every unsubscribe arrives as a reply you must notice, record, and remember before the next send, forever, and that ten-business-day clock does not care that you were on vacation. Your mailbox is not on your side either, because personal accounts are built for conversation, not broadcasting. A free Gmail account tops out at 500 recipients a day, but if too many messages bounce off dead addresses, Google can block your sending entirely for up to 24 hours. For a recurring mailing, use a tool built for the job; the free ones cost nothing at small sizes. BCC is good manners for an email. It is not a mailing system.
